Welcome! I'm so glad you are here! My name is Holly and I am a birth and postpartum doula located in the Twin Cities in Minnesota. I am a mom to three boys aged 15, 13, and 2. My passion for empowering women to have the birth that they desire arrived during my first pregnancy which unfortunately ended in miscarriage. I became obsessed with all things baby and birth. I continued my career which required extensive travel, and found myself discussing birth, babies, children, postpartum care whenever I could. It wasn't until my final pregnancy when I was labeled as "geriatric pregnancy", and unable to find the support that I so desperately needed, that I decided to become a doula. Through my experiences, I felt led to do this work. I wanted to make sure that if I could help anyone having a child to have a more informed, evidence based experience in their birth and postpartum time, I would do everything that I could to ensure that happened.
Pregnancy is a notably busy time, and let’s face it...at times extremely overwhelming. There is so much information available, and it is hard to know where to start. This is where you can look to me. I will provide the support, education, and information to help assist you to make the best possible decision in your birth and postpartum journey. The ability to be informed, prepared and at ease to make the choices that work for your family however you decide to birth is something that I hold in high regard. According to the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews having a doula present at your birth can decrease the rate of c-section by 50%, the length of labor by 25%, the use of oxytocin by 40% and requests for an epidural by 60%.
I aim to hold space for families at their most precious time by providing evidence based information on all the options and circumstances that accompany their arrival. We serve all families no matter how you choose to birth your child or multiple birth. Please reach out to us for more information. We take care of you from belly to baby and beyond.
